The importance of our people

We recognise that our people are the key to our success and the fulfilment of our promises to clients and guests. Understanding the significance of training and continuous development, we have implemented initiatives that positively impact all levels of our business.

Our commitment to training includes a diverse range of courses, from ensuring role compliance to fostering personal development and career advancement. We offer apprenticeship programmes (from Level 3 up to MBA), professional qualifications including CIPD, CIPS, IT, and Finance, and the ability to collaborate with our US arm on leadership development programmes. If you can’t find the course you’re looking for, we’ll go out and source it for you.

At Delaware North, we’re passionate about nurturing the next generation of culinary talent. Through our dedicated training programmes and hands-on mentorship, we provide aspiring chefs with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Our kitchens are a place of innovation and growth, where budding chefs can learn from some of the industry’s best while exploring their own creativity. From mastering the fundamentals to crafting signature dishes, we’re committed to shaping future leaders in the culinary world and fostering a lifelong love for the art of cooking.

Our North Stars

Every year we host the North Stars Conference & Awards, a celebration of the talent, dedication and innovation that drives our business forward. The event brought together teams from across our UK venues, highlighting achievements and sharing insights to continue shaping the future of hospitality.

The evening concluded with the presentation of 14 awards, recognising outstanding contributions across our portfolio. Winners included James Smith (Rising Star Chef of the Year), Ellie Gray (Excellence in Leadership), and the chef team at Emirates Stadium (Excellence in Culinary Innovation). Other awards celebrated guest experience, employee engagement, compliance and leadership, demonstrating the breadth of expertise and passion across our teams.

In my time at Delaware North, I’ve worked across multiple stadiums, seeing FA Cup Finals at Wembley, Champions League matches at Emirates, and being one of the first people on the ground to re-open the 2012 Olympic Stadium as London Stadium, where I’ve seen countless world-renowned artists perform.

I dived straight into the world of Wembley Stadium after college. No day is ever the same – one day it’s an England game, then the next week we’re hosting the NFL, boxing, before going back to concerts. Wembley is unlike anywhere on earth. Passion for the job puts perfection in the work is the ethos I live by.
